I think this is Eugene T. Johnson TM-1 (SS)
from the after torpedo room. This was taken at
an orphan home where we had a Christmas Party
for about 18 girls, ages 18 mo to 13 years.
I think we were in Sasebo, Japan December 1958.
We carried food, fruit and ice cream, each
girl got a gift of clothing. We had a ball and
hope the girls did. They sang "Silent Night"
for us in English, none of them could speak
English and we couldn't speak Japanese but
it was lots of fun for me....

The Main Power Patch came about,
provided by Jim Barnes, EN2(SS) ....

This is the patch we had made in Japan on
the WestPac Cruse '58-'59....

An engineman named Charlie Cooper,
can't recall his rate ....., did the art work
and was responsible for having the patch
made. Cooper was from NY state, don't
remember the town....I went aboard
Diodon as a fireman, made EN-3(SS)
and had EN-2(SS) made but got out
before the rate went into effect.
