I am interested in finding out if any U-boats are listed as missing or sunk near Beaufort, SC (Parris Island Marine Corps Recruit Depot).

It is rumored that U-boats would sit off our coast to monitor radio transmissions.

Even a local tale of a German Immigrant who refuled u-boats out on one of the barrier islands here back in the 40's. I have found german nazi china in a location offshore and would like to determine how it got there.

Where would I start?
