Subject: U-Boat off Texas coast
Hi Adolph,
Jim Santos sent your question on to us, inasmuch as we are (outside of
Germany) the world's largest archive on the U-Boats. I'm not quite sure about
your question - if you are asking about U-Boat operations off the Texas coast in
WW II, there were a lot of boats that operated in that area - some with some
success, others not. We'd have to be more precise with your questions.
If you are asking about that U-Boat that "everone knows" is sunk
there..........it AIN'T! Sorry for the street grammar, but there are so many
stories of U-Boats sunk all along the Gulf coast, but there just are none at all
with the single exception of U-166.
Please clarify your question.
Thanks,
