Subject: Dancing Bear
Bill, Here are a couple more dancing Bear Tales .
I was doing soup down one night and as would some
times happen The mess cook went down into the chill box and some sleepy eye
hero took a nose dive into the box on top of him .Well about this time
Dancing Bear came out of the afterbattery and though it was so funny that
something happened to someone other than him that when he stepped into the
control Room he failed to notice that the store room hatch was opened. Well
guess what happened.
We were in San Diego along side the Tender loading
Torpedoes. Dancing Bear came top side to go to the Tender . Welkl as it
would happen he got tangled in the handling lines , Triped going onto the
brow and as he was about to go onto the tender He ran head first intothe
chain fall track, But true to his name this failed to prevent him from his
mission.
