Good Evening Gang:

The weather is warm but cloudy and the seas are running just a might.  The transfer at Freeport, Bahamas went smoothly.  Capt.  Dom, his wife, two daughters and Mayor Hays all came aboard.  Capt.  Mortlan and Rudolph, the engineer, got off the boat to fly home for a rest.  Mayor Hays says to tell  all hi and  to keep the city on an even keel.

Don't know what this means, but while we were all sitting out on the Veranda along comes this Ruffled Neck Bird and lands almost right where we're sitting. Jim the engineer, a bird expert,  says it's a Jaegers,  a quick and powerful bird that robs fish from other birds.  This bird looked right at the Mayor and said, "Arkey...Arkey".  Now that's a smart bird.  I think he's a cousin to Sea Bird.  We fed him some sardines and he seemed happy.

Hey everyone don't forget about the reception in N.O.  Order Your T-Shirts now.  Hey Jim Barnes,  no problem with me saying a few words as I've always got something to say.  Frank Torres,  I'm sure all the experts knew WW2 was an "Unconditional Surrender" and  not a "Peace Treaty", that must have been a typographical error.
The reason you don't see Bob Opple in any of those pictures  is because that day he was wearing his D. C. Electrician outfit, a tierra, tutu and his ballet slippers.  Christy Durham, you do a great job at the ColStrip, MT. Senior Citizens Center.  My sister Emmadell (DayDay) Morris and  all the senior citizens really appreciate all you do for them.  Also "Hi" to her sweetie, Cowboy Jim.

Guess that's about all for tonight, good night Maurice, Bob, & SeaBird wherever you are, and as always, Jerris, I love you.

 Later,

Max Bassett MMCM (SS) USN Ret.
