USS Raton 1961 WestPac Trip memories recalled by Bill Rice

If I remember correctly, on the 1961 WestPac trip, we took about 12-14 Rangers in full battle gear somewhere, surfaced at night, and let them out on rafts. 

We also had an intelligence officer with a special camera on the periscope that was taking pictures of the shoreline.  I thought we were off the coast of Viet Nam. 

Do you know anyone that can remember this in the 1961 trip?
