Re: Eternal Patrol

Shipmates,

It is with great sadness that I forward this email regarding Shipmate EN2(SS) Murlin J. "Bo" Bowden, 1954-1957, 111 Barron Street, Patterson, CA 95363, (209) 892-6726, shirlnbo@lycos.com .

Shirley I am sorry to hear about Bo going on Eternal Patrol. Although I served on the Raton after Bo did I consider him a Shipmate and a brother Submariner. I along with his other Raton shipmates extend our condolences and I thank you for letting us know.

Bill.

Murlin J. Bowden (known as Bodingis or Bo on the Raton, Radar picket boat, during the years of 1954 to 1957. We lost "Bo" on the 3rd of July to a massive heart attack. He went very quickly and no pain. Bo had been hospitalized in February with kidney failure and beat that and was doing really well til we lost him. He had a military funeral and wore his Raton Cap , which he was very proud of. He is buried in Patterson, Ca close to his youngest son.

Thanks and God Bless,
Shirley L Bowden
