A Personal Note from Tim Schmidt
USCCA Founder

Dear James,

I want to share a story with you...

I took a "new guy" shooting yesterday. It was a "picture perfect" first-time shooting experience for him.

He is a 32-year old guy with a wife and four young kids. He's the eye doctor in town. This guy has a LOT to protect.

This fella had NEVER even held a handgun in his life!

After we got to the range, I spent a solid 35 minutes with him talking about safety and how each of the handguns worked.

I could tell he was a little bit nervous. But at the same time, he was also pretty excited!

Well, it was finally time to put our ears and eyes on and walk to the firing line.

I handed him the unloaded gun and the full magazine.

He awkwardly insert the magazine into the mag well and proceeded to rack the slide exactly like I had showed him.

And now we're about to get to the whole point of this story...

He slowly raised the firearm and lined up the sites. The first shot rang out... Then the second. Then the third...

As the empty magazine hit the ground, my friend turned to me with a look on his face that was simply priceless!

That look said, "Thank you."
That look said, "I LOVE this."
That look said, "Wow, I had no idea."

Well, I'm pretty sure my friend is hooked!

In less than 90 minutes a guy who probably didn't think twice about gun rights or the 2nd amendment was transformed into someone who will now think very carefully the next time someone tells him that guns are "bad"!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my rambling story. And I hope you'll find the time in your busy schedule to take someone shooting!

Have a safe Labor Day weekend!

All the best,
